Last year, on a beautiful September weekend, we took a short trip to the the annual wine festival in Sroda Slaska, a lovely town only a short drive from Wroclaw, 35 minutes by car to be exact, and it was well worth it! As we’re busy working on a SPA & Wine vacation for 2015, we are very excited to share with our readers wine related events happening around Poland. Every year, we find more and more places where excellent local wines are produced and celebrated in unique ways.
The Wine Day Celebration in the Treasure City, a name Sroda Slaska is also known by (because in 1985 treasures were found here dating back to 12th and 13th centuries, which included a gold crown, pendants, rings, and gold and silver coins) offers rich program: it starts off with the historic polonaise processional dance, very stately and very Polish, then there are medieval knight duel reenactments, workshops in wine making, wine and street food tasting, wine stumping competition and selection of Miss Wine in Treasure City.
This year, Wine Day Celebration in the Treasure City is scheduled on September 6 – 7 in Sroda Slaska, Lower Silesia region – See more culinary and cultural events in Poland by visiting our 2014 Calendar!
