Poland Culinary Vacations’ NEW in 2015 “SPA & Wine Vacation in Southern Poland & Krakow” has launched and one of the most exciting activities during the trip include visits to wineries on Subcarpathian Wine Trail.
Subcarpathian region is currently leading in the number of vineyards in Poland. Only in the last 10 years, the number of small, often family run wineries, grew to over 150. However, the viticulture in Subcarpathia is not recent, it’s history dates back to 11th & 12th centuries where the Benedictine and Cisterian monks cultivated and made wine here and Germans settlers in the 14th century planted vineyards in the area near Krosno.
Subcarpathia, as many other wine regions of the world, organizes annual wine festival called Miedzynarodowe Dni Wina – International Wine Days in Jaslo. This is one of the biggest events in the country devoted to celebration of Polish wine and wine making.
Once again, we are very excited about visiting Subcarpathian wineries next June in Poland during our culinary and SPA adventure. Great tasting wines will be paired with local food specialties. Vineyard owners are eager to introduce us to the broad variety of wines they offer and guarantee relaxing time in their beautiful wineries.
More information about Subcarpathian Vineyards – Winnice Podkarpacia can be found on the dedicated website: Winnice Podkarpacia – Subcarpathian Vineyards Detailed information about viniculture in Subcarpathia is described, the soil and climate conditions, the variety of grapes grown and the style and character of wines produced.
