Coastal Cuisine a Culinary Getaway in Pomerania and Gdansk

Welcome to the Coastal Cuisine a Culinary Getaway in Pomerania and Gdansk Tour! We’ll explore the beautiful Baltic Sea Coastline, Oliwa Cathedral, visit the charming Gniezdzewo village and explore Puck County.

You’ll get to attend a cooking class with women from Gniezdzewo village and learn how to prepare traditional Kashubian recipes. Then we’ll journey to Jastrzebia Gora, Puck, and explore the historic Market Square, Yachting and Fishing Port, Museum of Puck County, and much more.

We’ll explore Hel the Pearl of the Peninsula, Wladyslawowo, Chalupy, Kuznica, Jastarnia, Jurata and Hel. Then we’re off to Lebcz village to cook and taste delicious Pomeranian dishes. After that, we’ll take a scenic ride through Kashubian countryside to Gdynia and Sopot before heading back to Gdansk.

While in Gdynia, we’ll visit the famous pre-WWII food market and afterwards, we’ll take a trip to Malbork Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to see the world’s biggest brick castle and learn about the Teutonic Knights' interesting history.

Back in Gdansk, we’ll get to visit Town Hall of the Main City, Neptune Fountain, Saint Mary’s Street, The Royal Route, Crane Over the Motlawa River and many churches. We’ll also visit the Pomerania Culinary Academy for a regional cooking lesson with chef Krzysztof Szulborski.

Before the tour ends, we’ll take in the sites of the Motlawa River aboard the Black Pearl, a galleon-style ship, and visit the Monument to the Westerplatte Defenders, site of the first battle of World War II.

Tour Itinerary 
Day 1: Baltic Sea Coastline & Oliwa Cathedral
Location: Gniewino
Accommodations: Manor House Lisewski Dwor
On day one, we will be taken to the majestic Manor House Lisewski Dwor in the charming Kashubian countryside. We shall have the pleasure of staying in elegant rooms and savoring world class cuisine. There are plenty of attractions nearby, such as the stunning Baltic Sea coastline and enchanting Lake Zarnowiec. En route to the manor, we will make a stop in Gdansk Oliwa, a peaceful small city located outside of Gdansk. Here, we will tour the 13th century Oliwa Cathedral, the Abbots’ Palace, a beautiful park and get a glimpse of Lech Walesa’s residence. In the evening, we will be welcomed to the manor with a festive dinner filled with delectable Polish and Kashubian specialties.

Day 2: Gniezdzewo Village & Exploring Puck County
Location: Gniewino

On day two, we will attend a cooking class with women from Gniezdzewo village and learn how to prepare traditional Kashubian recipes. We will then journey to Jastrzebia Gora, a seaside resort with picturesque beaches, and Puck, a town in Northern Kashubia. We will explore the historic Market Square, Yachting and Fishing Port, Museum of Puck County, Pier of the Puck Bay and Seaside Promenade. Later, we will enjoy an exquisite dinner at Nordowi Mol restaurant in Celbowo.

Day 3: Explore Hel the Pearl of the Peninsula
Location: Gniewino
Accommodations: Manor House Lisewski Dwor
Day three will start with a drive to the gorgeous Hel Peninsula where we will visit the luxurious resort towns and centuries-old fishing villages. We will explore Wladyslawowo, Chalupy, Kuznica, Jastarnia, Jurata and Hel, the Pearl of the Peninsula. After stopping for lunch at the famous Maszoperia Cafe & Restaurant, we will visit The Fishery Museum, The Hel Cape, The Lighthouse, The Seal Sanctuary and Fishing Port. We may even take a scenic boat ride on the Baltic Sea to get a different view of the Peninsula. Once back at the manor, we will have free time to relax and enjoy dinner at the manor's restaurant.

Day 4: Gdynia and Sopo
Location: Gdansk, Poland
Accommodations: Hotel Gdansk
We're off to Lebcz village to cook and taste delicious Pomeranian dishes with Regina and her friends. Our hosts will also be teaching us about the unique arts and crafts of the region. After that, we'll take a scenic ride through Kashubian countryside to Gdynia and Sopot before heading back to Gdansk. In the afternoon, we'll explore the most interesting sights of both these coastal cities. We'll make sure to visit the famous pre-WWII food market in Gdynia and then take a stroll along the Esplanade in Sopot, the popular seaside resort. We'll also climb the Old Lighthouse and visit the beautiful pier. To end the day, we'll be having a scrumptious dinner at the Brovarnia Gdansk Restaurant and Microbrewery, serving award-winning freshly brewed beer and "Old Gdansk" cuisine. It's sure to be a night to savor and long remember!

Day 5: Malbork Castle & Gdansk Tour
Location: Gdansk, Poland
Accommodations: Hotel Gdansk
A trip to Malbork is the perfect way to explore the Pomerania region of Poland! As we journey to this UNESCO World Heritage site, we'll get to see the world’s biggest brick castle and learn about the Teutonic Knights' interesting history. After our castle tour, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch at the Gothic Café & Restaurant, which is known for its Culinary Heritage of Pomerania designation and traditional Pomeranian cuisine. We'll even have the chance to meet Bogdan Galazka, their friendly and talented chef and cookbook author! Later, we'll head back to Gdansk for some sightseeing - don't miss the Town Hall of the Main City, Neptune Fountain, Saint Mary’s Street, The Royal Route, Crane Over the Motlawa River and many churches. For dinner, you can explore Gdansk's fantastic restaurants on your own - we recommend Metamorfoza, where you can find a mix of Polish cuisine and flavors from around the world, as well as the art and science of molecular gastronomy.

Day 6: Pomerania Culinary Academy & Motlawa River
Location: Gdansk, Poland

This morning, we're setting out for an unforgettable experience! We're headed to the Pomerania Culinary Academy in Gdansk for our last regional cooking lesson with chef Krzysztof Szulborski. Afterwards, let's take in the sites of the Motlawa River aboard the Black Pearl, a galleon-style ship. We'll also be visiting the Monument to the Westerplatte Defenders, site of the first battle of World War II. Feel free to go souvenir shopping or join us on a tour of the Solidarity Museum and Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers. Finally, let's wrap up our journey with a Farewell Dinner at Pod Lososiem, one of Gdansk's oldest and best-known restaurants. Here, we'll enjoy a multi-course menu that showcases the best of Polish and regional fare, all paired with a glass of the famous Goldwasser Vodka. Na Zdrowie! Cheers!

Day 7: Departure
Location: Gdansk, Poland
Time to head home! Enjoy your last breakfast in Gdansk, or if you'd rather stay a bit longer to soak up the beauty of this lovely city, make your own arrangements to do so!
